Helping Neighbors In Need Isn't Just A Seasonal Act Of Caring At CSL Behring And CSL Plasma
King of Prussia, PA — 23 January 2012
CSL Behring, its subsidiary
CSL Plasma and the companies’ 5,000+ employees in the U.S. don’t wait for the holidays to open their hearts. Charitable events occur throughout the year at King of Prussia-based CSL Behring, its manufacturing facility in Kankakee, IL, and CSL Plasma in Boca Raton, FL.
Charitable giving in 2011 culminated in the annual United Way Campaign in the fall. CSL Behring and employees in King of Prussia contributed $118,500 to United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Kankakee facility donated $161,456 to United Way of Kankakee County, and CSL Plasma donated $354,000 to United Way chapters in southern Florida and throughout the U.S. wherever its plasma collection centers are located.
"We can always count on CSL Behring to be a good neighbor and help us give hope to those less fortunate," said Jill Michal, President and CEO of United Way Southeastern Pennsylvania. "The fact that CSL Behring and its employees once again gave generously, especially in the face of difficult economic times, reflects the company’s values and those of its employees."
CSL Behring and CSL Plasma employees also raised money in 2011 for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. In addition, CSL Behring employees in King of Prussia raised money for the Alpha-1 Foundation, Hemophilia Federation of America and Hereditary Angioedema Association, and they donated 300 toys requested by children through the Montgomery County chapter of the Salvation Army.
CSL Plasma employees raised money for a number of other charities including Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Habitat for Humanity. Employees at both companies donated thousands of pounds of food to local food banks.
"We’re proud of our employees’ selfless efforts to help neighbors in need, not just during the holiday season but throughout the year," said Paul Perreault, President of CSL Behring. "Charitable giving for 2012 has already kicked off in our King of Prussia headquarters with a fundraiser that benefits Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia."
