CSL Behring sets company record with contribution to United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania
Company and employees open their hearts and contribute $139,048
King of Prussia, PA — 29 December 2010
This year CSL Behring and its employees surpassed the company record for contributions to its annual United Way Campaign. In just two weeks the 300 employees in CSL Behring’s King of Prussia headquarters contributed almost $70,000. CSL Behring matched the amount, bringing the total contribution in 2010 for United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania to more than $139,000.
“CSL Behring is a great partner of the United Way,” said Jill Michal, CEO of United Way Southeastern Pennsylvania. “Naturally, we want to thank them for a campaign that generated a 13% increase. That’s such an accomplishment considering the economy. But they should really be congratulated for their ongoing support of their community. The leadership and staff have consistently shown their generosity and spirit, including countless hours of volunteer activities.”
It has been an extraordinary season of giving at CSL Behring’s locations throughout the country. In addition to Southeastern Pennsylvania, other CSL Behring locations made substantial contributions bringing the company’s overall United Way contributions to more than $500,000 to be distributed to local United Way chapters.
CSL Behring employees in the King of Prussia headquarters also conducted a Thanksgiving food drive for Philabundance, a holiday raffle for Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, and a Toys for Tots drive.
“Our employees and company are very caring,” said Patrick Collins, CSL Behring’s director of public affairs, who co-chaired the campaign with Janice Cannizzo, senior director of coagulation and critical care marketing. “They empathize with those who have been hit hardest by the
downturn in the economy, and they embrace the opportunity to give back. Our employees truly live CSL Behring’s values of service to the local and patient communities.”
