Richmond Winners
We are pleased to announce the following winners from our final 2007 JNC event:
Left to right: Peter Dyson, Trey Blowe, Perry Parker |
Richmond Raffle Winner:
Trey Blowe - 14 years old
To say that Trey was excited about winning a trip to Orlando was an understatement! Despite his severe hemophilia, Trey plays football for his high school team. He is a running back, line backer and also kicks for the team. Trey "gets in the game" by lifting weights, exercising, communicates with his coaches, trainers and most importantly, with his HTC. He also infuses before and after every game. Trey received "Most Improved Player in 2006." Congratulations, Trey! We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!

Regional Golf Winner:
Daniel Warren - 16 years old
Daniel plays golf for his high school team. He competes with the best golfers in the state and said "Even though I like to compete in these state-wide competitions, I never really feel I have a chance to win! Winning this JNC event makes me feel more confident about my golf game!" Daniel said it was a very close competition and what helped him go to the top of the leader board was Perry helping him with his last practice shot. He took this practice shot as Perry instructed, but in the process, hit Perry in the face with a huge, muddy divot! When asked what Perry's reaction was, Daniel said he didn't seem to mind!
Congratulations, Daniel, we look forward to seeing you at the NHF Annual Meeting in Orlando! |

Richmond Baseball Winner:
Branson Hurst - 14 years old
Branson traveled from Salisbury, North Carolina to participate in this JNC event and is a natural athlete. Besides playing baseball since he was three years old, he also likes motorcross - with the proper protective gear - his mother added! Branson said that his mother has always been supportive of his interest in sports and he appreciates that.
Congratulations Branson! |
In 2007, we expanded our JNC program to include a raffle winner along with the Regional Winners in Golf and Baseball, who all win a trip for themselves and two family members to the NHF Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida on November 1-4!
Cleveland Winners
The saying "Cleveland Rocks!" adequately describes our third Junior National Championship event! This JNC broke many attendance records: There were 150 guests—62 of them children—along with the most chapter volunteers (28) of any event. Our JNCs continue to get bigger and better every year! This Championship was also hosted in Jesse Schrader's hometown, which was a thrill for his parents. They got to see first-hand how Jesse makes a huge impact on hundreds of children's lives.

Regional Golf Winner:
Tommy Mackey - 16 years old
The theme for Tommy's story is "3 - 2 - 1." This was his third JNC. The first year, he won third place in golf, second year - second place, and third year he won first place! Obviously, two of Tommy's many strengths are determination and perseverance!
While Tommy is only 16 years old, he is already 6' 4"! He plays for his high-school golf team and has taken golf lessons since he was 8 years old. Reflecting how we have inspired our athletes through the years is Tommy’s caddy, Sean Patrick. Sean is a past JNC Regional Winner! So our JNC generations are now forming.
Congratulations, Tommy! |
Regional Baseball Winner:
Jordan Swoape - 13 years old
Jordan is a second-time Regional Winner. He plays baseball for the Burris Owls and is such a versatile athlete that he plays many positions for his team. He was so surprised that he won and was thrilled to be going to the NHF Annual Meeting in Orlando this fall. Congratulations, Jordan! |

Noah Sweeney |
Regional Raffle Winner:
Noah Sweeny - 10 years old
Look at that smile! That day, Noah had a feeling that he was going to win the trip to Orlando! He literally had his fingers crossed as we were announcing the raffle winner. Noah was beyond excited when we called out his name. When he received his trophy, Noah screamed "I'm going to Disney World!"
What was equally as cute was his response when we asked what he was looking forward to seeing in Orlando. The first thing he said was, "I get to see that famous baseball player and golfer again!" We said, "Perry and Jesse?" Nope—he was referring to Jordan and Tommy...how quickly they have become "celebrities!"
Congratulations, Noah!

Las Vegas Winners
Look at those precious faces....do these kids look hot and bothered? Not at all! Despite the 105-degree Vegas temperature (but it's a dry heat - right?), all attendees at the Vegas JNC had a great time!
Ninety-three family members from the bleeding disorders community were in attendance. Out of the 43 children, we had seven past regional winners in golf and baseball that traveled great distances to once again capture their titles, making this one of the most competitive
events in our JNC history!
We are pleased to announce the Regional Winners from the Las Vegas Event, all of whom won a trip for themselves and two adults to the NHF Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida:
JNC Raffle Winner:
Jennifer Lopez- 11 years old
J'Lo's in the house! Pictured here is Jennifer Lopez our lucky Raffle Winner! That smile says it all! She has three older brothers, is the youngest in her family and is definitely the boss! She likes to play baseball and also plays with her Barbie dolls. When asked if she has any boyfriends yet, she said no - but gave us that grin that told us differently! Congratulations J'Lo....we'll see you in Orlando!

The Las Vegas Regional Winners are as follows:
Left to right: Jesse Schrader, Mitch Dickey, Perry Parker |
Regional Winner in Baseball :
Mitch Dickey - 12 years old
Mitch Dickey from Portland, Oregon recaptured his Regional Baseball title! Mitch is 12 years of age and loves our JNCs! He has participated in every JNC in his area. He wanted this title so bad, that he convinced his parents to actually purchase the same pitching net that we use in the competition so that he could optimize his chances of winning! Now that's strategy! He plays second base and catcher for a Junior Baseball Team in his area. In addition to being a great athlete, Mitch also exercises his creative talents—take a look at his baseball uniform—he actually designed his team's uniform! Very impressive. But the greatest thrill for Mitch was that he was asked to autograph a baseball from a younger child at the event! He thought that was "pretty cool."
Congratulations, Mitch - you're going to Disney World! |
Left to right: Jesse Schrader, Vohn Dumdumaya, Perry Parker |
Regional Winner in Golf :
Vohn Dumdumaya - 15 years old
If this gentleman looks familiar, it's because he has won several JNC regional events. Vohn Dumdumaya, 15 years old, keeps on getting better and better with his golf game everytime we see him! When asked if he ever gets tired of receiving these trophies, he said, "Not at all! I'm still thrilled even when I'm not on top... just being here is great!" Vohn won by one stroke, so that "chip-in" on the second hole was the winning stroke. Vohn is also sharpening his mentoring skills. Brock Spacek - age 7 - was right behind him by one stroke. Vohn congratulated Brock on his game and was impressed that at half his age, Brock is such a great a golfer!

He is our golfing regional winner and thought his caddy did a great job and gave him lots of tips! Congratulations, Andres! |
Left to right:Perry Parker, Cody Klingmann, Jesse Schrader |
Regional Winner in Baseball:
Cody Klingmann - 9 years old
Cody is a third grader from the Kissimmee area and despite the fact that he is a 3-times-a-week prophy user, still plays baseball. His favorite position is outfielder. He also loves to jump on his trampoline at home! In Cody's words, "It was a fun day and I got to meet Jesse, a professional baseball player!" Congratulations, Cody! We're sure you're bouncing off that trampoline with joy! See you in Orlando. |
