Gettin' in the GameSM

Physical activity is important for everyone, with special benefits for people with bleeding disorders. Gettin' in the GameSM was developed by CSL Behring to help kids with bleeding disorders exercise, play sports, and be as physically active as possible. Exercise can help people with bleeding disorders build stronger muscles and joints and improve their venous access. Sports and exercise can also help build self-confidence, teach teamwork, and create a sense of community.

Among the most popular features of Gettin' in the GameSM are the local events at which children and their families can learn sports tips from our national Gettin' in the GameSM athletes, participate in appropriate exercises and warm-up activities, and meet other kids with bleeding disorders.

More Gettin' in the GameSM events are on the way—possibly to a location near you. To find out if one is coming to your city, look for information at your HTC, your local National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) Chapter, or as close as your mailbox!

The Gettin' in the GameSM Fitness Chart

Gettin in the Game - Sponsored by CSL Behring - Fitness Chart

We all need a little encouragement sometimes—someone or something that pushes us to do what’s good for us, like exercise. To encourage kids with bleeding disorders to develop healthy exercise habits while having fun, CSL Behring offers an innovative way for them to get active and stay fit—all while winning great prizes! It’s called the Gettin' in the GameSM Fitness Chart.

At Gettin' in the GameSM events across the United States, kids get to meet, interact with, and learn from professional and world-class athletes with bleeding disorders.

While all kids with bleeding disorders can benefit from physical activity, not all kids have the chance to attend Gettin' in the GameSM events—which is one reason CSL Behring created the Gettin' in the GameSM Fitness Chart. The chart also helps kids who have been to Gettin' in the GameSM events to stay active.

CSL Behring GIG Athletic Board Member: Perry Parker
"Kids really have a lot of fun at Gettin' in the GameSM events. It’s great to see them get excited about exercise and sports when they realize that it’s okay for them to be active, even with their bleeding disorders," says professional golfer Perry Parker. “I think it’s really cool that kids who aren’t able to come to Gettin' in the GameSM events can use the Fitness Chart to learn how to stay fit, and win some great prizes at the same time."

The colorful chart, which can be hung right in your child’s room, family playroom, or just about any place in your home where your child spends time, encourages kids to do something good for their bodies at least two times a week all month long. It features advice from the Gettin' in the GameSM athletes, appropriate exercise ideas (like stretching and swimming), tips for staying active and healthy, and a virtual calendar for your child to track his or her physical activity. And—if getting active and staying fit isn’t reward enough—there’s a postcard on the chart that your child can fill out and send in to CSL Behring at the end of the month to claim one of many great prizes, like collectible athletic pins, key chains, a backpack, and a mini-baseball bat.

When CSL Behring receives your child’s postcard, we will send the requested prize along with another postcard for your child to fill out the following month so he or she can receive another prize. It’s that easy!

The Gettin' in the GameSM Fitness Chart is available to all kids with bleeding disorders. If you would like to receive a Gettin' in the GameSM Fitness Chart or would like more information about the Gettin' in the GameSM program, please call us at 1-888-508-6978.
